UNI Europa Winter School learns about the EU Parliament and Commission
Over 30 participants from all over Europe took part in the recent Winter school that took place in our offices in Brussels.
The participants had a unique opportunity to learn more about the EU machinery and more about lobbying done in the European Parliament.
The group visited the European Parliament and the Commission buildings to see exactly how the EU is working and listened to a debate on the banning of plastic shopping bags which was being discussed at the ECOSOC Commission building.
Two MEP's and a prospective MEP visited to take part in a lobby training exercise, that 3 groups presented their specific issue to the panel and they received feedback on their lobbying efforts.
The MEP's said why they would have agreed or disagreed with the group or if their presentation was clear enough. This was very useful for the participants to understand how to improve their skills.
UNI Europa Regional Secretary, Oliver Röthig also addressed the group on the latest developments in UNI Europa.
UNI Europa Youth will continue with another winter school in 2015.
