« Prevention of stress » agreement signed with BNP Paribas
On 10 January 2017, UNI Europa Finance signed together with the management of BNP Paribas and the European Works Council an agreement on the “Prevention of Work-Related Stress”. It is the third and last part of BNP Paribas’ ”Social Charter”. For UNI Finance, Head of Department Angelo Di Cristo and Claudia Saller of UNI Europa Finance were present at the signing ceremony in Paris.
Two earlier agreements had been signed in this frame: One on the management of employment and one on professional equality between men and women. These three agreements together form the Social Charter that covers all employees of BNP Paribas within the European union.
Angelo Di Cristo said that the Charter is a big win for the European trade union movement and serves as a good example for other multinational companies in the finance sector. Stress has become a serious issue for bank and insurance employees over the past years. He said he appreciated the fact that BNP Paribas management is engaged in the social dialogue within the company, of which the Charter was an excellent result and proof.
UNI Finance and BNP Paribas committed to look into a possible Global Framework Agreement as a next step. BNP Paribas operates on a global scale and all employees worldwide should have the opportunity to benefit from the good social dialogue.
