New European Company Works Council at Teleperformance
Today, employee representatives and the management of Teleperformance, a globally active provider of outsourced customer services and telemarketing, have reached an agreement to establish a European Company Works Council.
This is an important achievement for the information and consultation rights of European contact centre workers. Following the demand of several UNI Europa affiliates in 2013 to create a European Works Council at Teleperformance, negotiations had already started when the company announced in early 2014 its intention to convert to a European Company (SE). In order to ensure the future involvement of workers under the new company statute, a new Special Negotiation Body was created representing workers from the companies' subsidiaries, including members of many UNI Europa ICTS affiliates. Following several rounds of intense negotiations with the Teleperformance management supported by a UNI Europa expert, a final agreement on workers' participation within the new European company was signed on 9 June 2015 in Paris.
