UNION VISION ACTION

This 3rd conference comes at a very important moment: the interests of European workers are coming under fierce attack. The 7 million members of UNI Europa will take a stand. We will organise joint action from the shop floor to the European level to stop the pressure on working conditions and pay of service sector workers.

Four years ago at our last conference in Athens, we came to the conclusion that social dialogue had run aground. Today, the situation has seriously deteriorated. The European Union has turned its back on the original idea of a united Europe, which guided the EU until the 1990s, that is to say a just and social Europe where living and working conditions improve for all and where the rights of workers and the role of trade unions are respected.

We are happy to be here in Toulouse with several hundred UNI Europa participants. Together, we are the voice of the largest part of Europe’s workforce, the voice of millions of workers in the services sector.
