Dear Mr. Palmisano, dear Mr. Yuksek, It has been brought to my attention that the Turkish IBM management refused to recognize the trade union TezKoop-IS as the legitimate organization for IBM employees. The union has signed up more than 80% of IBM staff in Turkey which has been confirmed by the Turkish Minister of Labour. The membership level is thus well above 50%, which is the minimum level by which trade union recognition becomes mandatory. The behavior of IBM Turkish management is not acceptable. This is not what employees, customers and the general public expect to see from the management of the world leader in information technology. I strongly protest against this behaviour and urge you to re-think your position and recognise the trade union immediately and start bargaining a collective agreement for IBM employees in good faith and a constructive manner. Yours sincerely,
.
