Barcelona attack: UNI sends message of sympathy and solidarity
UNI Global Union sends it sincere condolences and a message of solidarity to all those caught up in Las Ramblas atrocity
UNI wishes to express its heartfelt sympathy to the victims and the families of this latest terrorist attack and stands in solidarity with our Spanish unions who are grieving today.
UNI Global Union General Secretary, Philip Jennings said, “Las Ramblas is an iconic tourist and cultural centre, not only for Barcelona but for Spain and the whole of Europe. We have witnessed the cold-blooded murder of innocent people from around the world, drawn to this wonderful vibrant city. We stand together with our Spanish unions in grieving the loss of yet more victims of this hate-crime.”
Barcelona is the latest European city to witness the terrible effects of a vehicle attack on a so-called ‘soft target’, following similar attacks in Nice, the Berlin Christmas market and London.
