The Trade Union Advisory Committee (TUAC) to the OECD is an interface for labour unions with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It is an international trade union organisation which has consultative status with the OECD and its various committees.

TUAC's affiliates consist of over 55 national trade union centres in the 29 OECD industrialised countries which together represent some 70 million workers.

TUAC works closely with the international trade union organisations as well as with the International Labour Organisation (ILO). TUAC also works closely with international trade union sectoral organisations - the International Trade Secretariats -(including UNI)  to ensure effective trade union input to OECD sectoral work.

uNI has a close working relationship with TUAC and has worked closely with the TUAC secretariat on such issues as the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the implementation of those guidelines, the impact of e-commerce on workers and their families, Corporate Governance, and the digital divide.  UNI and TUAC have also jointly lobbied the Dot.force, a body established by the G8 countries to tackle the problem of the Digital Divide, to ensure there is a trade union voice on this issue.  UNI has also worked jointly with TUAC and the ICFTU in an attempt to establish a dot.union top level Internet domain.

TUAC is frequently called on to make presentations to meetings or Congresses of affiliates and other international trade union organisations. This process enables the trade union movement to have access to the intergovern- mental policy debate and at the same time allows policy makers to have dialogue with the Social Partners. Given the growing impact of globalisation on working people and their families and the realisation of the need for participatory strategies by governments for all the stakeholders in market based economies, this dialogue is more important than ever.
