is a fast growing category of highly qualified employees in all sectors of
the economy. P&MS are on the cutting edge of technological and
organisational change. They play a key role in companies and organisations.
Although they perform functions with a high degree of responsibility and
discretion, they are employees. P&MS need trade unions and the trade
union movement needs P&MS as members. UNI’s P&MS Committees at
regional and global level are set to support affiliates in their attempt to
organise P&MS and to develop specific services for P&MS. The
theme of the 2nd UNI World Conference for P&MS will be: As agreed by the P&MS Committee at its meeting in November 2003 the Conference will analyse and debate the impact of global labour markets on professional and managerial staff. The debate will be organised around four panels:
