Asia Pacific women meet


UNI-Asia & Pacific Women's Committee were given an eve of conference briefing at the Estrel in Berlin by Woman's Officer Monique Marti.
The Committee has nominated Therese Bryant, Australia, as one of the UNI Women Vice Presidents.
The region's delegation looks forward to taking part in the Women's Conference and the World Congress.
A focus will be developing an action plan for the committee's work in the region.


Robyn Woller of Finsec, New Zealand, chaired the Committee session.
Tatsuko Hirakawa, of Zentei Japan, were confirmed as Deputy President of the Committee.
The eleven members and four observers reported on a number of around the region. The common aim is to develop and sustain just and democratic societies within a framework of gender equality.
Networking is important in the committee's work in building up resources and programmes to enhance the position of women.
