Forum Draft Agenda: Tell us if you’d like to make a presentationRachel Cohen 14 April 2011 15:41:42As past participants at the Communicators' Forum know, we rely on participants to make presentations and lead our discussions. If you are attending the forum, please take a look through the agenda and let us know if you can make a presentation on one of our main themes or on another topic. This year we have two main themes: Operation Innovation and Fighting the Financial Crisis. On day 1 we will focus on Operation: Innovation --the new means of communication that unions are using-- with a special focus on social media. On day 2 we will look at the financial crisis and how unions are fighting back against political and corporate attacks on workers and workers' rights. On Day 3 we will have a chance to discuss a more varied range of topics as well as a session for evaluation and planning for future work together. Please leave a comment with your suggestion for a presentation or you can send us an email at forum2011@uniglobalunion.org.

Blast from the Past: 2010 Communicators ForumCécile Monnier 11 March 2011 15:55:15Last year’s Communicators Forum was a success. Sixty-one people from 25 countries participated in the Forum held at UNI’s Head Office in Nyon, Switzerland. The theme was “Person to Person” – Participants explained how they shared the personal stories of workers to organize new members, mobilise existing union members, build public support and to put pressure on employers when they don’t respect workers’ rights. Participants also shared their opinions about how their unions could make the best use of social networks. Discussions were conducted in groups, workshops and by presentations to all the participants.
