CWA calls for banks to sign global agreements

Imagine?.What if U.S. bank workers were treated with the same respect as their unionized counterpart in Brazil, Spain, the U.K., Uruguay, and Chile? Wouldn?t that be a beautiful thing?
But no?There are two international financial institutions doing business in the U.S., Santander and HSBC, who refuse to sign a global agreement. A global agreement would allow their workers in every country the same rights to organize. However, their refusal to sign a global agreement won?t stop any organizing of these U.S. employees!
SEIU Massachusetts is currently holding a three day conference to address this issue. They have brought in bank workers from around the world who have union representation with these companies. The meetings are devoted to developing an international strategy to help these U.S. workers organize. As a result SEIU and CWA along with our international partners are committed to jointly organize U.S. bank workers.
Santander and HSBC, you are now on notice! U.S. unions are not easily dissuaded and are very familiar with the anti-union tactics employed by big corporations. With the help from our international brothers and sister we will be successful.
United we stand.
Solidarity Now!
