Following the strong and united voice in the recent industrial action ballot by PCS members at HP Enterprises, HP employees working on contracts with the Department for Work and Pensions in the UK have decided to undertake a one day strike on Thursday the 10th December to protest against job redundancies and pay cuts.PCS members will also be participating in continuous action short of a strike, commencing Tuesday the 8th December.
The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union said there has been “growing anger” after the merger of HP and EDS last year and the successive pay cuts. In addition, 3’400 jobs were made redundant with another 1’000 to come next year.
