    PCS strike action at EDS suspended

    The PCS strike committee has agreed to postpone the current industrial action from Wednesday 9 December following agreement by the company to talks to seek to resolve the present dispute. The terms of the agreement are as follows:

    "PCS acknowledges HPs stated commitment to seek a resolution of the current dispute, and agrees to suspend the current industrial action short of a strike, and discontinuous strike action, with unconditional talks commencing on 16 December 2009 to resolve the outstanding issues of:-

    (1) Job security, including the use of compulsory redundancy;
    (2) Pay, including increased pay for those covered by collective bargaining, and an annual pay review for other members.

    It is agreed between HP Enterprise Services and PCS that the industrial action ballot in respect of the action referred to above shall not cease to be effective on 28 December 2009."

    Meetings will be held in each workplace involved in the dispute to discuss the situation during tomorrow.
