UNI americas is UNI global union’s regional organisation. It was founded on January 1st, 2000, as a result of the merger of 4 International Professional Secretariats. With 189 unions affiliated in the continent, it represents at present, over 6 million female and male workers from 34 countries.

The regional office headquarters are situated in Panama City and it also counts with Support Offices in cities like Buenos Aires, Port Spain and Bogota. There is also a Support Centre in Washington.

UNI americas organises 13 labour sectors and includes 3 intersectoral groups highly developed in the continent: women, young workers and professionals.

UNI americas supports democratic and independent unionism for the development and reinforcement of the organisations it represents. Furthermore, UNI americas promotes democracy and freedom of expression as essential values for the respect of fundamental human and labour rights.
