Representing the interests of affiliates on regulation at national regional and global level is vital for giving a global voice to media and entertainment workers. Regulations at regional and global level impacts on business models, rights remuneration models and various other aspects of the environment in which media and entertainment workers.

Defending our members’ intellectual property rights and the fight against piracy, supporting sustainable funding for creation in film and entertainment, strengthen public values in creative industries, workers rights, freedom of association and expression as well as the status of cultural workers and their access to collective rights are the key issues on which we take position and directs campaign towards governments and regulatory bodies.

UNI MEI positions are directed at national government in support of affiliates ‘ efforts, regional bodies such as the ASEA, the EU, MERCOSUR, etc. as well as international regulatory bodies such as the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
