Holland Casinos employees are fighting for a better collective agreement.
|
Vakbond ABC, UNI Gaming affiliate in the Netherlands, has informed UNI about employees' actions in the Holland Casinos. This is the first time in the history of the company its employees expressed disagreement and gathered together on January 1st at Casino Utrecht and on January 7th at Casino Rotterdam to demand a better general agreement.
For the past four years, there was no wage increase and trade unions in Holland Casinos asked for 2.5 percent raise since January 2011. The company is only willing to increase the salaries by 1.75% if the unions agree with the new package of conditions for new employees meaning a difference of 30% with the current employees. It also wants to cut holidays by two days as well as to increase the retirement age (55 years instead of 50). The unions disagree with the current offer and are planning to organise protest actions every week.
UNI Gaming Global Union supports the legitimate demands of the unions and calls Holland Casinos to conclude a decent collective agreement for the benefit of all employees in the company.
